Using my skills and experience, which include art direction, editorial design and brand identity across print, digital, video and live events, and after a fantastic career in the publishing industry, firstly with CN Group and then Newsquest lasting over 16 years, in June 2019, I decided to branch out on my own as a freelance creative designer.

I was proud to be part of the team that set the standard for regional magazine design, producing a stable of award-winning publications. From early 2018 I worked across the Newsquest Group as Creative Director, re-designing their national lifestyle magazines. My re-design of the Living magazine portfolio was highly commended at the Society of Editors Regional Press Awards 2018/2019.

Since then, I have been fortunate enough to re-design The Cumberland & Westmorland Herald weekly newspaper, be the contract publisher for their Cumbrian Christmas magazine, launch the regions most popular news App Cumbria Crack, re-design Dumfries & Galloway B2B business magazine DG Voice and I am also the co-organiser of the Cumbria Food Awards 2022.
